Transform Your Holiday Wardrobe
Knowing which outfits and other items of clothing to bring with you on holiday is sometimes the most difficult part of packing your suitcase. After all, you can't predict the what the weather will be like during your time abroad, and you won't know what kind of establishments, such as bars or restaurants you'll be visiting while you're there, and some of them may require a dress code. But help is at hand, and whether you're a man or a woman, here are some tips for making the most of your holiday wardrobe without taking up too much room in your suitcase.
Think About Your Footwear
Share: What you wear on your feet on holiday will be somewhat dictated by the terrain and the weather conditions which you will be travelling in. In general, hot climes will require flip flops and walking sandals during the day to keep you warm. Women should aim to pack one pair of casual shoes such as these to wear during the day and two pairs of formal shoes, such as heels in different colours, black and nude for the evening. Men should take a pair of walking sandals, and a pair of more formal shoes, such as brogues for the evening, as many clubs will not let customers in if they are wearing trainers.
What Accessories?
While this may seem to apply to just the women, men's accessories are important additions to any outfit. Never underestimate the power of a good watch, smart cufflinks and a plain, simple necklace can have on your appearance. Make sure that everything matches, and nothing clashes with your outfit. For women, accessories are much easier because there is so much to choose from. A simple pashmina is very good for travel, as it will keep you warm on cooler evenings and help protect vulnerable areas, such as your shoulders and the back of your neck from the sun. When it comes to jewellery, thick less is more, especially in hot climates. Wearing too much jewellery will ruin an outfit and also weigh you down and attract more heat if the jewellery is made of metal on particularly hot days. Hats are particularly helpful for people of both sexes and all ages as they help protect the wearer from sunburn, and worse, sunstroke. Go for straw and wide-brimmed hats, as these are effortlessly stylish, and can be carried around easily.
Swimming costumes
For women the eternal question when it comes to swimwear is, bikini or swimming costume? While this may vary depending on what the individual is comfortable wearing, it's always best to take two swimming costumes or bikinis on holiday so you can change what you're wearing. For men, two pairs of swimming trunks are also acceptable, although try to have them in slightly different colours or designs so you can differentiate between the two. Whether you're male or female it's very, very important to have a swimming costume that fits you correctly, as having an ill-fitting costume will make you feel uncomfortable and will ensure that you're constantly trying to rearrange it when you're trying to relax during your long awaited holiday in Spain.
