To start a career as an IT technician you will need some qualifications in IT. To begin with, these may vary ,but a technical qualification that proves you understand and can repair and maintain computers will get you in at the entry level.

More specific qualifications can be obtained from within the company which generally trains its staff on the equipment within the organization. The large companies might want a degree in computing before they'll consider employing an IT technician but this isn't required for many organisations. Training is usually on going within the company.
