However, with more time to look the glamorous makeup looked less trustworthy. It seems time helps "make up" our minds. Girlfriends boost women's optimism. According to a 2011 Gallop-Healthways poll, 25% of women ages 45-55 gave themselves a 10 out of 10 on optimism about their present and 5 years from then. That optimism was attributed to strong social support and girlfriend circles. However, it's the quality of friends - not the number - that's important.
