Healing Cancer With The Mind by:Dr Laurence Magne

From the desk of Dr Magne, author of Cancer Free For LifeThe power of your mind over functions of your body is widely acknowledged. Medical studies that measure the effectiveness of treatment have proved that patients often improve even when the pill they are taking is only a sugar pill. This is because they believe that the pill they are taking will heal them. This phenomenon is known as the placebo effect. In fact, in drug trials, the health...more

Lifestyle Choices May be a Predictor of Bladder Cancer by:Jon M. Stout

The thought itself is astounding: a way possibly exists to predict if a person could possibly contract bladder cancer in the future. In recent studies, debate is emerging in regards to one theory - that lifestyle choices and the impact of living life a certain way may be related to bladder cancer. A recent study by the Department of Preventive Medicine of Nagoya University School of Medicine indicates that there might, in fact, be a strong and...more

Over Coming Breast Cancer by:Trish Powell

Being diagnosed with breast cancer is one of the most scary things a woman can learn. We know a great deal about it because information on breast cancer is in just about every woman's magazine, along with awareness articles in papers and a staggering amount on the internet. Yet still it is a gut wrenching moment when you find you are one of the statistics. There is though life after breast cancer. It does not have to be all doom and gloom, but it might not be life as you knew it! I have the t-shirt "I survived breast cancer" and though my path may not be the right path for you, any survival story gives hope and encouragement, so here is mine.I felt the painful lump, and rushed off for a mammogram. (Or should that be, I felt the lump, and rushed of for a painful mammogram?) Anyway the diagnosis was that it was probably a cyst. This at least gave me some hope in the time between diagnosis and operation. It was though a cancer, and small enough that I did not have to loose my breast. The surgeon did remove a Lymph gland as a precaution, something I don't think they now do unless necessary. The surgeon told me he thought that he had removed all the cancer and it should not return. But,...more

The Natural Way to Heal Cancer by:Dr Laurence Magne

Is it possible to control and influence rate at which injuries, wounds and even cancer heal? That's the question a group of researchers from the Ohio State University asked when they decided to observe wound healing rates in a group of exercising older adults in comparison to that of a non-exercising control group. This three-month study looked at...more

Learning About Cervical Cancer by:Ingrid Tiessen

Cervical cancer is the second most common type of cancer in women worldwide. It is also one of the most preventable types of cancer.Cervical cell changes are often caused by a sexually transmitted virus called the human papilloma virus or 'HPV'. Most HPV infections will clear on their own once the immune system has dealt with it,and not lead to cervical cancer. Often, a woman infected with HPV will never know that she has been infected. When a woman goes for her annual Pap test, the changes in the cervix are detected. A doctor is not usually alarmed by slight changes, as this can be caused by irritation or inflammation of the cervix, and will recommend retesting in 6 months. If, however, the changes do not revert back to normal, further testing is required to deal with possible precancerous tissue. As long as regular testing is done, precancerous cells can be removed usually with no long term problems for the patient. Thankfully, truly invasive cervical cancer takes years to develop, but it is best to have it treated as soon as possible for peace of mind, and to avoid complications down the road. Call your doctor if you have any of the following symptoms, as they may be a symptom...more
