Travelling To And From Luton Airport

Travelling To And From Luton Airport

Luton airport is the fourth largest international airport in the London area

. The airport is located in Bedfordshire and is the fifth busiest airport in the UK.

The airport acts as a base for airlines EasyJet, Monarch, Thomson and Ryanair and most of the flights from the airport fly to destinations around Europe.

Getting to Luton is easy as it is only 32 miles from the centre of London. If using public transport, it is worth noting that the airport does not have its own train station on site. There is a shuttle bus service which connects the airport to Luton Airport Parkway station, the service runs every ten minutes, between 5.00 and midnight.

If you decide to travel to the airport by car, depending on where you are travelling from, you may want to take advantage of the airports car sharing scheme. By registering for the service you are able to browse the journeys of other members on the database, to see if there is a match that you can share your journey with.

Those wanting a stress free journey may want to take advantage of the Luton bus transfers on offer. The service makes travelling to and from the airport much easier and is good option for those not wanting to spend money on taxi's or minicab's. The service offers stops at Brent Cross, Finchley Road, Baker Street, Oxford Street/Marble Arch and London Victoria and can run every 15 minutes depending on the time of day.

There are local bus routes which connect the airport to the surrounding areas, but these services may not be available for use if you are travelling to or from the airport at 'anti-social' times, so it is advisable to check timetables if this is a possible mode of travel. There are also coach routes travel to and from the airport, with some services leaving the airport for destinations including Leicester, Cambridge and Birmingham.
