This past week, London has seen more sun than it has since August- or at least it feels that way. The return of the sun has people doing more than smile. It has them dreaming of summer, prematurely sitting on patios, and thinking about next season's wardrobe. For men summertime means long, khaki shorts, espadrilles or little punting shoes, light coloured, linen sports jackets and a cool pair of shades. That's the look every summer, but what of interest is in store for 2011?It takes a certain kind of guy to pull out all of the fashion stops. For starters, he has to have confidence. People who strut down the high street looking fabulous, appear that way because they wear everything they own with confidence. And because of that confidence they are willing to take fashion risks, many of which pan out quite well. They are who become the trendsetters of the world.It also takes a guy who is genuinely interested in fashion. Often men who care too much about the way they look are considered vain. But fashion isn't about vanity, it's about spending time doing something you love and makes you feel good- getting dressed, wearing different materials, following and setting style trends, appreciating a good design and a good cut. It's men with these kind of interests who can and will wear a Swarovski stone, gypsy ring, or a coloured enamel cuff on their wrist. They might put a scarf on their head or carry their laptop around in a stylish denim or snakeskin case. They'll wear a bold Kenyan belt or a unique set of retro silver cufflinks. New Spring arrivals for men have hit the shops of London's high streets already. They bring with them trousers in every colour of the rainbow- namely pastels, denim button-up shirts, bead encrusted lace up shoes, washed out jean jackets, skinnies in every colour, thin cashmere sweaters in every shade of grey, rain jackets, and of course, the never-to-go-out-of-style, leather bomber. And then there are the classic looks- black and white anything, nautical stripes, camel trench coats, paperboy hats, and sexy luggage. Fedoras are still in, and yellow has made a major comeback- put the two together and you've got yourself a Dick Tracy look my friend.There's lots to look forward to this Spring/Summer. So make some room in your closet, save up some extra cash, because the shopping is getting good and it's only going to get a lot better!
