Here are a few tips on how to keep your teenager busy:
1. Book Clubs - Joining different enrichment clubs or organizations would surely make them productive. Many organizations and clubs cater to teenagers and have goals of keeping them on the right track, the best ones are book clubs. They can be able to socialize with other members and learn from them. With books, they can be able to explore the world without traveling and they can learn a lot of lessons that they can be able to use later on in their lives.
2. Outreach Organizations - Joining outreach programs or outreach organizations not only enable your teenager develop her social skills by being able to meet others, your teen can also help others. Outreach organizations usually travel to different places to deliver medical supplies and other important services so your child can have this chance to be in different places.
3. Sports - Making your child busy in a sport will surely make him busy and, therefore, prevent him from joining friends who may tend to experiment with unhealthy activities such as taking drugs or being involved in street fights. Karate is one of the best sports for your child to explore. Karate teaches self-defense and can be a great way to make your child physically active. Of course, another great thing about karate is the discipline it instills in those who practice it.
4. Work - Working as a cashier at your local store or tending to your own garden is a great productive activity. Your child can get a temp job, this way, he will be too tired to entertain bad influences.
5. Family Bonding - It is important for parents to initiate activities that will involve everyone in the family. Most of all, these activities have to be fun or those that allow the children to enjoy themselves while in the company of other family members. If there's a strong presence of family members in a child's life, the chances for him to be interested in people who can be a bad influence is reduced.
