Buying A Braun Oral B Electric Toothbrush For Your Child

Last year, I took the kids to stay with their grandparents for a while and we had a wonderful time

. Whilst staying there, my nephew also came to stay for a while and all the kids got on great. This nephew is only four and is really into electronic gadgets and he refuses to use a normal toothbrush, which is the kind that my children have. He has to have a childrens electric toothbrush and in particular a Braun Oral B electric toothbrush in the shape of his favourite character.

Off course, my kids were soon demanding that they wanted the same as their cousin had, and so began the search for a Braun electric toothbrush for each of my kids. The oldest two were no problem as they just wanted any type of childrens electric toothbrush, no matter what the style. The youngest, however, had a very particular design in mind and we had to hunt around at least four different shops before she was satisfied with the one we chose.

An electric toothbrush is one which uses a battery to allow the head to move around rapidly. There are two main types of electric toothbrush, the vibrating ones and the rotation oscillating ones. The oscillating ones move from side to side and the rotation oscillating ones are those where the head moves first in one direction and then the other. The ones which only vibrate are the cheapest and they are not as effective.

There is some evidence that using a Braun electric toothbrush may be better than conventional brushing but this is not set in stone. The important thing to remember is that more than the type or style of toothbrush, it is the method which gets the results. The way that you brush your teeth, the actions that you use, the frequency and the length of time you brush for are all factors. It is essential that children are taught the proper way to brush their teeth and that they are supervised until they are old enough to brush independently. You need to make sure that they pay special attention to the gum line, as this is where problems start.

In order to make teeth brushing fun for children and to encourage proper and accurate methods, there are different styles of tooth brush. There are those which have LCD displays telling you the length of time that you have brushed for and many different icons and Disney figures as well as timers.

A childrens electric toothbrush needs to be gentle and have the age appropriate head size. The condition is important and a tooth brush needs to be changed every three to six months. If you are using a Braun Oral B toothbrush, you will just need to change head of the brush. The batteries are usually rechargeable ones and do last for a while. At least my kids now enjoy brushing their teeth every day, instead of having to be forced to do so twice a day.
