Particularly in the current economic climate, holidays are considered to be something of a luxury

Generally more expensive if travelling abroad, many people decide not take a holiday at all if they cannot travel abroad, as they believe a holiday in the UK cannot be as good, fulfilling or relaxing as one abroad. However, whilst it may take a greater amount of planning to choose a holiday destination in the UK to suit your needs, there are some fantastic tourist locations available that can be just as fulfilling, if not more so, than any holiday that is taken abroad.Of the many destinations that are available to choose from, Cornwall on the south west coast of England is widely regarded as one of the best holiday locations anywhere in the UK. For many people, boarding an aeroplane and flying is part of a holiday and some can believe that a holiday in Cornwall would be spoilt as it is possible to drive there, removing the need for flying. However, although this may be apparent, it is often considered more time and cost efficient to fly to Cornwall from anywhere in northern England (although possible from elsewhere in the country, the benefits are not as substantial as they are from anywhere above Yorkshire).
An example of this can be seen in two families travelling to Cornwall from Teesside in the north east. If taking the journey by car, it would require for two cars to be taken, both needing to be filled will petrol anywhere from one and a half to three times and apart from food and drink needing to be purchased, it would take around eight hours and can be somewhat uncomfortable and tiresome for everyone involved.
Comparing this to a flight, where once a return aeroplane ticket is purchased (which can be done so relatively cheaply if booked in advance), the aeroplane simply needs to be boarded and within a quarter of the time it takes to drive to Cornwall, the aeroplane will have landed and everyone is free to enjoy their holiday without feeling tired or aching.

Cornwall boasts such a wide array of different attractions, from award winning beaches with surfboarding schools to theme parks and wildlife attractions, two weeks can easily be spent in one of the many Cornwall hotels or on wonderful caravan park, visiting a different sight or attraction each of the fourteen days, making it a fantastic holiday destination for the entire family.
