David Archuleta Tickets - A Dose Of Christmas Spirit Straight From The Heart
Share: Fans remember David Archuleta as the wide-eyed runner-up from American Idol (the seventh season)
. The 18-year old singing sensation is set to appear at several venues throughout the United States in December in support of his latest album, Christmas from the Heart. Listeners will be treated to holiday favorites like "The First Noel" and "O Holy Night" and will also have the chance to hear a new seasonal ballad called "Melodies of Christmas."
Archuleta recently gave a brief interview to SFGate website, where he elaborated on upcoming Christmas festivities and reflected on his music career. When asked about the speed in which he's accomplishing things (this is his second album of the year, and he's on another tour), Archuleta responded, "It's going fast, but that's how you grow. It pushes you out of the comfort zone. You don't think you can do it, but you get through it and you realize it's all part of the growing process." David Archuleta may have finished American Idol as the runner-up to David Cook, but he managed to amass quite a following of loyal fans. Praise from Idol judges came after his rendition of John Mayer's "Waiting on the World to Change," as well as versions of "Another Day in Paradise," "Angels" and "Imagine." Although he was the season's youngest contestant, his strong, confident vocals helped propel him to the top of everyone's list.
After the conclusion of American Idol, Archuleta branched out on his own, releasing his self-titled debut album in November 2008. The record received mixed reviews from critics, with many citing a lack of catchy tunes on the effort, but nevertheless, it proved to be just what his fans were looking for. The album was helped along by the lead-off single "Crush," which debuted at the number two spot on the charts.
Share: Ultimately the album went gold and Archuleta embarked on a tour in the U.K. with McFly and then in the U.S. with Demi Lovato.
Archuleta's holiday effort, Christmas from the Heart was recorded in between tours and will once again please his large fan base, who is eager to hear more sweet melodies. In addition to the previously mentioned ballads on the record, "Ave Maria," "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "What Child Is This" are also included.
He admitted in the SFGate interview that it was a little bit difficult to get into the holiday spirit when it was a sunny 90 degrees outside, saying, "We had to start recording in July. But it's been good; it's helped me really think about what Christmas is all about. In some studios, we had the Christmas lights up just to get in the mood."
A great stocking stuffer this year would be Archuleta's holiday CD, perhaps with an accompanying pair of tickets to one of his upcoming performances. Make the season a little brighter and give the gift of music this year!
