The squeaking wheel gets the oil
The squeaking wheel gets the oil. It does not pay to be too timid. Most problems will not correct by itself. Staying quiet will not get us what we want and the other party will continue to be unaware of our predicament. All of us have an obligation to contribute for the betterment of the world around us.
Travelers are one of the squeakiest groups of people in the planet. Rightly so because they deserve every penny of the money they are spending. Blogging is a form of service to fellow travelers and is potent way of voicing our concerns and opinions as Carl Larson recently did.
An over fanatical ticket agent charged Carlson with the usual $50 bike fee when he checked a folding bike contained in a box within the standard weight and dimensions. Why? Because it is a bike and regulation states that bikes are charged $50. Larson blogged about his complaint on the Bicycle Transportation Alliance website. Other websites immediately picked it up. The airline lamented and refunded Carlson's $50. An airline official informed him that they are officially changing their rules and that from now on; folding bikes contained in regulation size box will not be charged extra and will be treated like a regular bag.
The travel industry is very aware and takes blogging very seriously. Many travelers looking for hotels online take what they read on the blogs more seriously than regular media because it fells more like getting an advice and not like an advertised endorsement. Bloggers often write in a casual and conversational way. Share:
It is better to find a specialty when starting a blog. A little technical knowledge, a computer and an internet connection is all you need at the beginning but it takes a lot of time once you get hooked doing it. Focus on a topic that you like and know much about and tell an interesting story.
Video blogging is gaining popularity and is a very effective form of blogging. It is also a good way to remember your holiday travels. Video blogs contains am embedded video or a link to the video. This kind of blog can provide fellow travelers with the advice they are looking for in their next trip and does so without being too wordy. People get to actually see what you are talking about. You Tube is the most accepted video sharing site. It was founded in 2005 and permits bloggers to host and supervise their own blogging sites.
Blogging in a very effective media not only to inform and express our opinion but also to push for change and thereby improve the world we live in.
