Understanding the Travel Insurance Policy

What would happen to the money spent on a vacation for you and your family if you had a family emergency? I had to deal with that scenario when my grandmother passed away. I booked a vacation for my family to go to Orlando, Florida for six day. I booked the flight, rental car, and hotel with a very popular online company. The total cost of the trip was two thousand six hundred dollars. I was offered travel cover before I finalized my trip but I declined. I did not read the fine print about travel covers and how I would be protected if I was unable to take my family on vacation. Once I found out my grandmother passed away, I called the company to change my reservations. I was able to change my hotel and rental car reservation with no problems. Unfortunately, I was unable to change my flights or get my money back. I was unable to get a credit for the flights to use in the future. I was instructed by the travel agent that if I would have purchased the travel insurance, I would be able to get my money back for the flight. My family was very disappointed and we had to delay our family vacation due to this mistake.
Travel Insurance is insurance that is used to reimburse or cover a trip cancellation or other unforeseen events with traveling. Travel cover work like auto insurance but the big difference is travel cover is a one-time fee compared to paying monthly for auto insurance. The travel insurance is similar to auto insurance because you are required to pay a deductible based on the coverage selected. For example, some travel insurance companies required the traveler to pay a certain fee to be reimbursed for travel canceled due to unforeseen events. If I had purchased travel cover, I would have paid thirty six dollars for the insurance. The deductible required for trip cancellations was one hundred for my family of four. I would have got the money I spend for the airline tickets back which was one thousand three hundred thirty six dollars. Learn about the Total & Permanent Disability Insurance. Travel Insurance can be purchased to cover only certain items selected by the consumer. The insurance covers lost or stolen bags. The consumer is reimbursed for the value of the luggage claimed and deductible paid. Medical and health emergency during your vacation could be covered with travel insurance. It works the same way as the lost luggage policy. If items are lost due to theft, travel insurance can provided the consumer with funds to cover expenses. The insurance also covers the topic that most people do not want to talk about, death. Accidental Death is covered under travel insurance which will pay a certain amount to the designated person. For example, if you wife passed away on a cruise ship due to an accident, the husband is entitled to a selected amount of money designated by the wife.
