Jerusalem
One of the most ancient cities in Israel and also of the world, it is revered in all the three Abrahmic religions- Islam, Christianity and Judaism. It is one of the most visited sites in Israel and annually attracts more than 2 million visitors. The city has been communally divided into four locations-Armenian, Jewish, Muslim and Christian quarters. Some of the best known destinations in Jerusalem include Temple Mount, Al-Aqsa Mosque, Dome of the Rock, Tomb of Absalom, Mount of Olives, Church of Maria Magdalene, Golgotha which is the site of crucification of Jesus and many more. The list is almost endless and it is said that every rock and grain of sand in Jerusalem has some historical significance.
Tel Aviv
It is the capital of Israel and is a modern bustling metropolis and has a population of more than 3 million. It has been included as one of the ten best beach cities of the world by National Geographic Channel. Close to the city is another famous tourist destination- Jaffa.
Safed
The city is famous for its artisans. It is believed that the holy Book Talmud and the Kabbalah was conceived here. The place is much revered in Jewish religion.
Acre
It boasts the Shrine of Bah'u'llh, resting place of Bah'u'llh as well. It has been designated as a UNESCO world heritage site.
Haifa
It has Shrine of the Bb and the Bah'' World Centre which is also a UNESCO designated heritage site.
Tiberias
Situated on the banks of the Sea of Galilee it is a holy city and much revered by the followers of Jewish religion. Other remarkable locations in the city include Mount of Beatitudes Tabgha and Capernaum.
Nazareth
It is the hometown of Jesus and it is here that he preached and performed his supernatural acts and miracles. The city has a number of Churches and includes the largest church in the middle east- The Church of the Annunciation. It is a popular notion among Christians that it is the site where Archangel Gabriel revealed that Jesus will be born to Virgin Mary. It is the starting point of the Jesus Trail which transverses across many sites connected to Jesus's life.
Bet She'an
It is one of the largest archaeological sites discovered in the Middle East.
Beersheba
It is the regional capital of the Negev desert and is the gateway to many Unesco world heritage sites such as Nabathean Incense Route which includes Shivta, Avdat, and Mamshit.
Besides these sites there are many more unexplored tourist places in Israel which can be visited with ease.
