The Transamerica insurance companies report annual financial strength figures to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners
. These numbers include life insurance in force, assets, liabilities, and capital and surplus. For the 2009 year, Transamerica Life Insurance Company (TLIC) reported that they held $1,155 billion of life insurance in force. The Transamerica Financial Life Insurance Company (TFLIC) held $297 billion in force. The total assets of TLIC in 2009 were $101.5 billion versus the $20.9 billion of TFLIC. TLIC liabilities totaled $95.6 billion while the liabilities of TFLIC were $19.9 billion. The capital and surplus reserved by TLIC was $5.6 billion, and TFLIC reported $1 billion.
