Your timber garden shed plans will include a list of all the timber, fixings and fittings needed to complete the construction and so allow you to work out costs. Your local timber merchant or hardware store should have a price list to hand.
If you are happy with your estimate and your next step is to check that your new shed conforms to local building codes, this information will be on your shed plans, no use building only to be told that you have to take it down again!
If everything checks out then youre ready to order your wood and fittings, some suppliers will cut your timbers to size which is almost as good as buying a kit.
While you are waiting for your order to be fulfilled you may want to prepare your shed foundation, this should be firm and level allowing doors and windows to open and shut smoothly. A good foundation can add years to the lifetime of a building.
