Lighting a child's bedroom can be done in one of a number of ways
. By making sure that childrens table lamps are placed in the room close to the bed, there is a greater sense of comfort for a frightened youngster who can chase away the darkness when they become scared in the night.
The newborn baby is going to have to be attended to throughout the night and most of those times will come with the added bonus of having to perform some small task. Night-time tasks such as feeds and diaper changes can be performed in the semi-light and will be a much easier task than if the whole house were woken. A baby's eyes are sensitive and flicking on the overhead lights is not a wise option. The muted glow of a small nursery lamp is a much more comfortable choice.

A young child will have developed some pretty specific tastes and it is likely that the latest cartoon favourite will get some representation in the bedroom. A favorite cartoon character depicted on the lamp shade, a sporting theme, ballerinas or a horse theme are all very appropriate for this type of furniture piece.
When your child starts school, homework will have to be completed. The old animated lamp that was bought as a two year old may no longer be deemed appropriate with a desk lamp providing the task lighting that is now required to avoid tired eyes.
The type of table lamp that is placed in the room may seem to be of little importance, but in the mind of your child it may hold huge significance.
