Technological advances over the last few decades have been nothing short of staggering
. There is barely a part of our daily lives that is not touched in some way by technology of some type. Quite possibly the industry that has been affected the most by technology in recent years is the motor industry. There are currently more cars on the roads today than there ever has been, and the gadgets and technology that they have within them is quite amazing. In years gone by vehicles were operated strictly by mechanical technology and there was very little electronic or computer involvement. Today this could not be farther from the truth; almost every car on the roads today has some kind of central computer or console management system that controls almost everything that operates the vehicle.
The onboard computers that are located on most vehicles today have the ability to provide the driver with vast amounts of information. They can inform the driver when the car is due for the next service and they can even calculate to the nearest kilometer when the car will run out of fuel. These facts and many others that the computers can inform the driver of help them to ensure that the vehicle is well maintained throughout the time it is owned and driven.
It is not simply the console management systems that have changed the way that todays vehicles operate the entire vehicles have been completely transformed over the last few decades. All new vehicles on the road now have power steering that enables the driver to gain a great deal more control over the vehicle. It also makes complex turns and reversal maneuvers much easier to handle. Many of the modern cars are also fitted with satellite navigation systems. These are rapidly replacing maps as a method of directing ones self around unknown areas. A high quality version of satellite navigation is even able to direct a driver around foreign countries as well as the one in which they reside. None of these technological advances would be possible without the use of a console management system.
The majority of vehicle manufacturers today tend to concentrate on safety features just as much as the aesthetic appeal on their cars. Safety has been drastically improved on the cars on todays roads. The tyres that help to provide a high level of grip have been fantastically designed to work well even under extreme weather conditions. Share:
The addition of excellent quality seatbelts and airbags has helped to make vehicles as safe as technology allows. Although, there are more road traffic accidents than ever before on the roads the chances of survival are higher than ever as the cars are so well equipped to deal with them.
