. Page count is the total extension pages that reside within your website including the pages that are inside of directories, not including sub domains.For example:
If your website has 20 pages that end with an .html, your page count is 20.
If your website has 10 pages that end with .html extension and 30 pages that end with .php extension, your page count would be 40.
Your total number of pages inside your site is only important when each page has unique content and builds internal rank within our domain that will spread across your pages.
Sites that are both small and large can benefit and lose from their page count. Sites that are small can obtain a high individual page rank by limiting the amount of information across a small number of pages and then highlighting the main page of importance. If you have a large site, you want to be sure that at least 14% of your pages are internally hyperlinked to promote better page rank for those pages that you consider important. You might want to locate your highest entry pages, rewrite them for better search engine optimization and ensure that your links on those pages lead to second level pages that need page rank.
You do not necessarily have to have a large website to rank well in the search engine listings. Your design and quality of your website will outperform the larger and underdeveloped sites. The large sites will draw more visitors to there website if the effort is put into each page when it comes to search engine optimization.
