It is a freestanding, three-season tent. The Eureka Timberline 2 has an A-frame design that offers a lot of space, with great air flow and shelter for two campers. This tent is great for casual backpacking or a starter tent for people who are new to camping.

Buying a backpacking tent can be a critical decision. It is important to think about various features such as size, durability, style, breathability, and resitance to water. Two main features to consider are both the weight and size of your tents. Backpacking or camping tents that can shelter 2-3 people can weigh anywhere from 4 to 9 pounds. The breathable nylon canopy also minimizes condensation. The fly and floor are both made from fully-sealed non-stretch polyester, keeping you dry even in the worst of circumstances.
The Eureka Timberline 2 is extremely durable. It stands up to an extreme amount of wear and tear. Some campers have described using this tent for over 20 years without any problems!
