This book is written by Charlotte Bronte who is one of the tree Bronte sisters who were all famous for there novels.The first time I started reading this book it seemed a slow going book and more like a preaching manual with a lot of things on religion and life put in a very theoretical manner.But as the book progressed it brought about a passion only a Bronte can potray.
The character of Jane is unlike other heroine's who are usually beautiful and smart.Here Jane is really a plain jane true to her name and her circumstances are bad too.This book is not for those who look for fairytale romance but for those who try to find romance in everyday things.Moments are bigger than there setting in this book.
For all those who like a subtle book with few adventure but still interesting in its own ways "Jane Eyre" is a treasure :)The year 1847 was a particularly eventful one for the Bronte family. She is sent to Lowood, a school run by a hypocritical minister. Though subjected to a starvation diet and branded a liar by the nefarious man of God, Jane endures. Her mettle is tested again and again, but through it all she remains faithful to the standard she has set for herself and others.
