Reading Quran Online To Better Understand Islams Prohibition From Suicide Bombings

Today, majority of Muslims all around the world are in deplorable conditions

. Though popular media also has a sinister role in portraying Muslims as worst specimens of humanity, but certain segments of Muslims themselves indulge in activities that are not only against the teachings of Islam, but also against any moral or ethical code of conduct otherwise.

In present times, one of the major areas painted black by anti-Muslim media giants is that of suicide bombing that seems to have increased in frequency all across various sections of Muslim world. One has to realize and acknowledge the fact that majority of common people living in western world are quite innocent and blindfolded; they simply fall for what media tells them, rather than researching and contemplating by themselves. When they hear constantly increasing instances of suicide bombings across different sections of Muslim world, they develop severely negative ideas about Islamic ideology and teachings.

Ideally, western world shall directly access and analyze the true teachings of Islam before making any judgment about them, but as mentioned before, majority of masses is not up to this seemingly arduous task, so they simply prefer relying on media feedings. Truth is that teachings of Quran and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are the only authentic sources of knowing more about Islam.

Irony is that with so much progress and development in various information channels increasingly available to people all around the world, instead of accessing and examining information directly from prime sources, people still go for what others tell them. Internet is available to even not-so-developed areas of the world and anyone having internet can access can learn directly about Quran teachings by consulting Holy Quran Online to see how sacred Islam considers human life, contrary to how some Muslims resort to measures as desperate as suicide bombings and target killings.

In fact, the main purpose of this article is to quote some excerpts from Quran and hadith to give better idea to people what Islams true teachings regarding suicide are. Let us commence by quoting a verse from Chapter Nisa in which Allah Almighty says:

. And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allah is Most Merciful to you.

And in Chapter Al-Anam, it is stated:

And slay not the life which Allah hath forbidden save with right. This is commanded unto you by Him so that ye may understand.

The problem with suicide bombings is that it not only kills the person who does so, but it perishes the lives of many innocent people, which is strictly forbidden according to teachings of Islam. Yet again, knowing about such teachings is as easy as spending a minute on keyboard and mouse to read Quran Online by yourself. Just have a look what Quran says about sanctity of life in the following verse:

Nor take life which Allah has made sacred except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand qisas or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law). (17:33)

Not only is it specifically forbidden in Quran to take an innocent life (be it your own or someone elses), but it is also quite evident from various hadith quotes, such as:

Narrated Abu Huraira:-

The Prophet said, "He who commits suicide by throttling shall keep on throttling himself in the Hell Fire (forever) and he who commits suicide by stabbing himself shall keep on stabbing himself in the Hell-Fire."

These are just a few examples of Islams view about taking innocent lives. By these, it is evident quite clearly that Islam can never be in favor of such desperate and hopeless acts. May Allah Almighty bless everyone the strength to find truth and embrace it.
