Purchasing Your Spa The Smart Way

When it comes to purchasing a spa for your home or backyard living space

, many people spend a lot time researching their perfect option and deciding on whether or not they should make the purchase. Typically, most people don't make many complaints after such purchase and if they do, it is mostly due to the service or lack thereof from the place which they bought it from.

When looking for your spa, there are a few things that most people question: The first is, what is the difference between a spa and hot tub? Second is, what should I focus on when purchasing a spa? And third, what should I look for in the company I am purchasing my spa from?

To answer the first question, it should be noted that the word spa describes any sort of jetted, heated, water-filled tub. In fact, the dictionary has defined it as "a celebrated watering place". Spas are usually made of acrylic or fiberglass with acrylic being favored due to its ability to sustain a longer life. Hot tubs are typically made of wood and have some sort of liner inside. They don't have the acrylic seating like spas do, but do have jet powered action.

Secondly, when purchasing a spa, one should ask themselves and get answers to a few questions. Do you want a portable or a self-contained spa? Is the heating and filtration system automatic? How should you heat your spa and is it costly to do so? What are some options to make ownership a little easier? What are the benefits of owning an energy efficient spa? Are spa parts covered under warranty? And how long has the dealer been in business and what is their service like? It is definitely recommended to inquire about their service. Questions like these help you understand what you are looking for and what is important to you.

Third, you should look for a reputable company with outstanding achievements and service. Many people are selling spas today, which is beneficial to a healthy competition, however, be weary of companies offering cheap bargains or immensely sale prices. You typically get what you pay for and some mass merchandisers don't have warranties or service to back up their sale.

A great place to start when looking for a reputable company is by checking consumer reports or magazine such as Spasearach or Poolsearch. Two locations, Tyler TX spa and Longview Spa, are home to the number one selling place to purchase a spa and the title holders of Spasearch Magazine awards.
