Rodeo is a sport that arose out of the working practices of cattle herding in Spain
, Mexico, and later the United States, Canada, South America and Australia. The sport was based on the skills required of the working vaqueros in Spain and Mexico and cowboys in the western United States. Today it's a rousing sporting event that features horses and other livestock with competitions designed to test the skill and speed of the human cowboy and cowgirl athletes who participate.
