Panic Attacks Children – Dealing With Panic Attacks and Anxiety In Children

Children just like adults have stuff that stresses them and cause anxiety

. They worry about certain things, they are scared as a result of certain things, and just because we are grown up and can't relate does not mean their issues are not real.

Anxiety and panic is actually normal for everyone to feel, they just come in different forms. For example young children will be scared of the dark, but adults can be anxious before an exam.

The problem with anxiety and panic happens when they become frequent, sometimes for no good reason. When they start to alter one's life so negatively, that is when it is deemed a problem that one should not turn a blind eye on.

When it comes to children, they are different, but they do go through some common symptoms that can tell the parents that their child needs help:

Their self confidence may drop

They may not want to participate in school activities or anything that requires them to be social

Some might even wet the bed

Agitation and anxious feelings will be the norm

Their behavior will change and they might be irritable, sometimes to the point of throwing tantrums

Some might have headaches or stomach aches with no good reason

Some children might retrieve into themselves, and may find it hard to make friends

These may differ from child to child, and the best way to help your child if you are unsure is to have their child's doctor run some tests, so that that a proper diagnosis can be done.

Anxiety and panic attacks should not be taken lightly, as they get significantly worse as the child grows.

Also, it helps to hear what your child is saying, and you might get new insight into what may be happening.
