Natural Weight Loss
The two main rules to follow for natural weight loss, is eating right and getting regular exercise.
Sounds simple. Right? For a lot of us it is a case of 'easier said than done'.
Natural weight loss really isn't too difficult. There are lots of little changes you can make to help in the process. Such as eating healthy snacks like fruit or whole grain crackers, instead of junk food like chips or donuts.
A good approach for losing weight naturally is to stick to a diet that includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk and milk products. Includes lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts. Is low in saturated fats, trans fats, and added sugars.
One thing you should remember about low-fat products, is that "no fat" or "low-fat" foods doesn't mean non-fattening. It also doesn't mean you can eat as much of it as you want. The truth is, most non-fat or low-fat products have just as many calories as the full fat versions. Read nutrition labels and you'll see what I mean.
Calorie intake is another thing you need to watch. If you take in more calories than you are burning, then you will put on weight.
Some tips for healthy eating:
Eat breakfast every day. People who eat breakfast are less likely to overeat later in the day.
Choose whole grains more often. Try whole-wheat breads and pastas, oatmeal or brown rice.
Select a mix of colorful vegetables each day.Vegetables of different colors provide different nutrients.
Choose fresh, canned, or frozen fruit over fruit juice. Fruit juice has little or no fiber, and the calories may be high. If you eat canned fruit, opt for fruit packed in water rather than syrup.
Use fats and oils sparingly. Olive and canola oils, avocados, nuts and nut butters, olives, and fish provide heart-healthy fat.
Eat sweets sparingly. Limit foods and beverages that are high in added sugars.
Have low-fat, low-sugar snacks on hand. Whether you are at home, at work, or on the go, healthy snacks may help to combat hunger and prevent overeating.
Doing regular exercises are the ideal thing to do. But if you don't like the thought of 'working out', there are other ways you can incorporate exercise into your day. Taking stairs instead of the elevator, parking as far from the door as you can, or energetic house or yard work (gardening, raking, mopping, vacuuming), are just a few.
Any activity is better than none. You should aim to include muscle-strengthening activities as well.
You can be physically active every day for one extended period of time, or you can break it up into shorter sessions of 20, 15, or even 10 minutes.
It is not always easy to change your eating and physical activity habits. You may have setbacks along the way. But keep tryingyou can do it!
