Starting out from the Triumphal Arch down the Avenue des Champs Elysees, Europes most exclusive avenue, it winds through beautiful Parisian woodlands and the heart of the city, passing the iconic sights of Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum and Place de la Bastille. Most of the course runs along the flat river banks of the scenic Seine. Typical French refreshments of red wine and cheese are served to participants at the 35km mark, opposite the Eiffel Tower. The final stretch passes east through Bois de Boulogne and the finish line appears on the Avenue Foch.
