Hult Global Case Challenge Announces Winners of Regional Competitions


Hult International Business School today announced the five regional winning teams of its 2nd Annual Hult Global Case Challenge: Boston University School of Management, Stanford University Graduate School of Business, University of Belgrade Faculty of Organizational Sciences, SDA Bocconi School of Management and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The regional competition took place on Saturday, March 5 in Boston, San Francisco, London, Dubai and Shanghai.

This year's Hult Global Case Challenge brings together college and university students from the world's top schools to focus on developing solutions to accelerate clean water access and sanitation around the world. The five regional winners will now advance to the Global Final on April 28 in New York City, where one team's innovative solution will be selected by a world-class panel of business executive judges.

By reaching beyond Wall Street, Canary Wharf, Lujiazui and other major financial districts, we hope to teach the next generation of business leaders that the skills they learn can be used for-good as well as for-profit."

The five teams competing in the Global Final in NYC include:

BOSTON Boston University's School of Management (Boston, MA): Jane Bulnes-Fowles, Toni Ann Louie, Matthew Kelly Fox, Catherine Lynn Liang and Ravi Kolipaka

SAN FRANCISCO Stanford University's Graduate School of Business (Stanford, CA): Ashish Jhina, Sebastien Tilmans, Florian Wiedinger, Ido Sum and Dan Tuttle

LONDON University of Belgrade's Faculty of Organizational Sciences (Serbia): Ema Neskovic, Jovana Dadic, Ninoslav Stojsavljevic, Tamara Pajevic and Aleksandra Nikolic

DUBAI- SDA Bocconi's School of Management (Milan, Italy): Andre Krzyzowski, Nicolette Cora, Partha Ganguly, Felipe Dell'oro, Alejandra Caceres

SHANGHAI The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong, China): Gaurav Bhatia, Venisa Chu, Jeffrey Chow and Lucas Pech

A sixth team from the online competition will be announced on March 21 and will join the five regional winners at the Global Final in New York City.

The Hult Global Case Challenge competition is in partnership with the Clinton Global Initiative and Water.org, an organization co-founded by Gary White and actor Matt Damon. The Global Winner will be awarded a $1 million prize that will go towards working with Water.org to implement their clean water solutions. President Bill Clinton will be on hand at the final competition in New York City to deliver the keynote address and personally present the award to the winning team.

Global judges will include Gary White, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Water.org; George Fisher, Former CEO of Kodak and current senior advisor of private equity powerhouse KKR; Bruce Mosler, Co- Chairman of Cushman & Wakefield; Peter Thum, Co-Founder of Ethos Water and a Vice President at Starbucks; Gary Hattem, President of the Deutsche Bank Foundation; and Premal Shah, a leading social entrepreneur and president of Kiva.org.

Overall, more than 130 teams from the world's top academic institutions competed in the regional competitions. Schools participating included Hult, MIT, Harvard, Tufts, Cornell, Columbia, Boston University, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Middlesex University Dubai, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Bahria University, EDHEC Business School, University of St. Gallen, ESADE, Warsaw University, INSEAD, Tel Aviv University, HEC Paris, Johns Hopkins University, Norwegian School of Management, Stockholm School of Economics, Instituto de Empresa, University of British Columbia, Pan African University (Lagos), Peking University and the University of Macau, among others.
