How To Spring Clean Your Wardrobe

Spring is here. The snow is melting. The trees are blooming. Shopping is taking place all over by women everywhere. you want to make sure that you do some spring cleaning on your wardrobe before breaking the bank on the newest spring trends.If you have a storage closet where you put away out of season clothes, you probably forgot about many of the pieces that you already own from one season to the next. So before you buy yet another pink t-shirt when you already own five of them, it's time to empty out your closets and drawers and look objectively at each item in your seasonal wardrobe.
You might need to give yourself a few hours depending on how your out of season clothes are packed. Make sure that you have a lot of natural light, so do this during the day instead of during the nighttime. You should also keep a piece of paper or a small notebook near by so that you can make a list of the items that you will need to buy.
Empty every item in your closets and drawers and pile it on your bed. Start trying on every single item of clothing you own - just dig in! Do all the zippers or buttons work well, or are there problems? Do the items sit on your hips the way they should? Do they compliment your body? For instance, you can get a longer look if you are a little shorter and you have a lower fitting skirt or even a lower fitting pair of pants. There are styles that were really in years ago and are not so much of a fashion statement today. Murphy Brown is a perfect example of what used to be popular and what is not popular today.
Also, don't just look at how the item fits you. You should carefully examine each piece. Don't keep anything that may not fit right, is stained or may be worn beyond the possibility of repair. Don't forget your shoes, socks, and lingerie.
If you want to make sure everything fits correctly, you want to make sure that the correct items underneath the clothing. If you wear a lot of t-shirts in the summer, a lacy bra will show right through. Make sure you have a few nude colored bras and panties in your collection. Nude will disappear, where white will show through as bad as a frilly garment.
If the piece is still in good condition, but you no longer want it, consider donating it to a charity. Many strip malls have containers on their parking lots where you can donate old clothes. If the garment was very expensive and you have had buyer's remorse the moment you whipped out your credit card, consider selling it in a consignment shop. You probably won't make back the total amount you paid for the item, but it may sting a little less.
This is where the magic begins - when you have finally removed the items you no longer want and have cleared out many of those items that cluttered your wardrobe. You no longer have to go through as much clothing to get to something. Although we have come to believe that more is more in our consumer-driven society, you will find that when you pare your wardrobe down to a few essential pieces, you will be able to take better care of them. Your closets and drawers will no longer have the issues as before and your clothes will be able to move about more freely inside these places. Now that you can find your clothing much easier, you will not buy the same thing two or three times over, so you can find what you need when you need it.
