Money is an important factor when it comes to job. In fact an attractive compensation package is what most people look at before accepting job offers, even foregoing other. But from a sensible point of view everything requires to be considered on an equal footing. If the salary offered is a little bigger than what you are already getting then you should have no reason to feel insulted. At the same time see that you are being treated equally like the present employees. Another way to look at salary is making a fair assessment of what your services are worth. If it is close to your estimation accept the offer or look elsewhere.

Benefits and perks are just as important as the salary itself. See if they will give you insurance, medical, club, housing and leave travel allowances liberally. Even a company car with liberal fuel allowance is worth considering in favor of accepting. They may not appear to be much but when the time comes for availing you will know its really worth. Offers may not be fully revealing as they are written, and if you have any doubt dont hesitate to get clarifications. Sometimes a medical benefit for the family may not include maternity benefits for your spouse, or worse still may not cover your parents. Medical expenses may be covered with a cap on expenditures and you may be paid only for a part. So check it out.

Working hours, holidays and traveling conveniences are all part of the overall benefits. Some jobs may require that you travel frequently and the class of traveling is of utmost importance. Check the kind of hotel fare to which you are entitled. If you are an executive find out if they will allow you first class travel by air and stay in a five star hotel. They all make a big difference to you. Find out when you can expect your next promotion and the annual increment that they give to their employees generally. Of course salary raises are decided on the basis of your performance and conduct but a minimum raise is something that you should know beforehand.

Sometime your health or spouses health may be enough reason to reject an offer if it involves traveling on a regular basis. Do not accept a job offer just for the sake of pleasing someone who referred you there. It can be devastating for the company and for you as well. Companies hate to go through all those procedures to find the right hand another time.
