Got One Night In London? That's Just Enough Time To Do Everything

Got One Night In London? That's Just Enough Time To Do Everything

Thinking of the perfect trip itinerary for London

, what would it comprise of?

It would surely have to include a trip to see the major tourist sights, most notably Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

And a view from the top of the London Eye would generally be considered a must now; as would going to a London theatre to see a famous West End show after a trip on the Tube and of course a journey in a black cab.

Chances are it would also include heading to a museum of some sort - there's enough in London to choose from, so picking one is never a problem. Got One Night In London? That's Just Enough Time To Do Everything

A good meal in a restaurant would be a regular inclusion on most people's itinerary, too.

Now looking at that, you would have to give yourself, what, two days? Maybe even three to make it comfortable?

But what if you were told you could do all of these in a single night in London?

Sure, it wouldn't be to the extent you might have dreamed of, but if you were in London for one night - something which a lot of business travellers are - would you turn down the opportunity to experience such a variety of different aspects of London?

Assuming that you are in London for work and you're finishing at the standard 5.00pm, then your first port of call should be getting a black cab to the National History Museum, as the last admission isn't until 5.30pm.

Spend some time looking around this fantastic museum and then make your way to the London Eye for full 30 minute revolution around this 443 foot tall Ferris wheel at 6.30pm, before grabbing hopping on the Tube to the West End to see any of the musicals that are playing at 7.30pm- it can be tempting to name just one or two, but with so many fantastic shows to see, they're all arguably as good as each other.

Leaving the London theatre at close to 11pm, walk into Covent Garden and straight into a restaurant - it may not be the norm in other parts of the UK, but in London you can expect to get served in a restaurant in the city centre up to midnight without any major problems. In fact, you may have to wait a few minutes, as a substantial amount of other theatre goers will have exactly the same idea as you.

Finishing the night with a glass of wine and then a black cab back to your hotel, you'll sleep soundly after a busy night. You'll need it, too, as first thing in the morning it's time for a walk along the embankment to take in Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, followed by a short Tube ride to Buckingham Palace, before you jump on your train back home.

It might be a bit frantic and more than a little rushed, but experiencing the delights of London in one night is achieveable - and extremely enjoyable.
