There are also a few picnic spots equipped with barbeque facilities. The Pertobe district also offers other chances to enjoy the outdoors such as lawn tennis, mini golf and a running track. A skateboard park is not too far away.
For the evenings, there is plenty to keep you busy. How about dinner and a show? First enjoy a meal, whether at an elegant bistro, a casual family diner or an artsy cafe. The choices are broad and will satisfy any cravings. Then head over to the Warrnambool Entertainment Centre. This huge cultural complex puts on a wide variety of live entertainment including drama and comedy, opera, ballet and musicals. Then for your late night entertainment, do a little bar and pub hopping. Relax with a nightcap and maybe even hit the dance floor.
One of the best experiences to be had here is whale watching. Whales commonly frequent the local waters and the chanced to see them are great. Observe them from the air, the land, the sea or even by train!
Other adventurous activities include fishing and diving. Take your pick of waters: freshwater lakes, salt water inlets and bays or hit the ocean. Take in the sights of coral and fish. Or, get really adventurous and visit Ship Wreck Coast. Any aquatic life found here are subject to a "no take" rule. However, there are other areas where fish and crayfish are allowed to be removed.
And before you can call your visit complete, you have to go to Allansford Cheese World. Get treated to free samples of the award winning cheeses that are produced locally. Then pick your favorite and have a lunch, breakfast or snack. Complement your cheese with a glass of some of the terrific wines, also locally produced. Then step inside the Cheese World Museum which is full of twentieth century items and tools used for farming and everyday farm life.
As you can see, Warrnambool is a destination that will prove memorable for people of all ages. It offers a great balance of relaxation and excitement that is sure to please just about anyone. Just make sure you plan a trip that is long enough to enable you to do everything!
