Events That Make The Gold Coast A Great Destination
A whole bunch of different events go on at the Gold Coast on a very regular basis
. Although many people will visit this region for nothing more than just a chance to get into that incredible water and lounge on the beautiful white sandy beach, there is more going on over there. You can watch or join in with some wonderful adventurous activities that they have happening every year.If you are one of those majorly competitive people that like to run and swim then you might want to check out the Gold Coast Anaconda Race in September. The company that puts these race on have it going on in only four locations worldwide and the choice of this area is a real no-brainer. During the race you get to run along the white sandy beach of the Gold Coast. It will also take you through part of the leafy green Hinterland. While here for the race you can also have the chance to explore the area for fun.
For something to enjoy just as a spectator you can go during October and see the Gold Coast Indy 300. There is more than just cars that are speeding through the streets of Surfers Paradise and Main Beach going on here though. A lot of the local businesses get into the fun with parties and contests of their own for this. You can see the Miss Indy competition and even don your best skivvies and join in the festivities at the annual Indie Undie Ball.
They love live music in this part of the world so it is not surprising that there are a good number of music festivals that happen year round. Many of these are family friendly events that are perfect for a nice picnic on a blanket in the park. The Blues Fest is a big Easter weekend extravaganza with plenty of big name bands. Coming soon this year is the Blues on Broadbeach. This is in may and it is free for everyone, which makes it a popular good time for all.
All of these fun things are even better because of the location. You really can't find a better place to vacation than the Gold Coast. It has the unbelievably beautiful weather for the vast majority of the year. You can also use this spot as a starting point to many other spots nearby that are definitely worth a visit.
