, no one is perhaps more recognized than Dr. Deepak Chopra. He has been trusted by everyone from sitting presidents to daytime queen Oprah because of his straightforward look at total body health. Now, Chopra is giving fans a chance to take his method on the go. He has created an app (short for application, for the non-tech savvy) for the iPhone called Stress Free. The close-to $10 app is one of countless apps available for the iPhone, but this one is probably a lot more relaxing than the annoying sound clip apps most users download.The Stress Free app aims to keep users calm and relaxed during the day. This particular app may not be for those who hate interruptions, though, because it sends out reminders about ways to remain stress free all day. Talking to NPR, Chopra said he was inspired to use technology in a new way. He also revealed that the app has an interactive feature and said, "You can actually touch a portion of the app and it might tell if you're at this moment stressed or relaxed...and tell you exactly what to do to counterbalance your stress."

Chopra was born in India to a well-respected cardiologist. He first came to the United States in the 1970s and started building a reputation as a trusted name in medicine not long after as an endocrinologist. His attention soon turned to the Eastern healing methods, completely transforming his approach to wellness. He eventually worked his way to the chief of staff position at Boston Regional Medical Center. Although that is a height few doctors reach, Chopra was far from finished.
By the 1990s, he was gaining acclaim for his books on East-meets-West health. During that time, he released books like Perfect Health; Ageless Body, Timeless Mind and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. In 1996, he opened the first Chopra Center for Wellbeing in La Jolla, Calif. with Dr. David Simon. He later opened another center on the East Coast.
In his long career, Chopra has written more than 50 books, which have been translated and distributed around the world, including famous works like The Book of Secrets: Unlocking the Hidden Dimensions of Your Life and Peace Is the Way.
