Cycles UK London Nightrider
We've all heard of Land's End to John O'Groats, a gruelling journey that many keen cyclists undertake in order to raise money for charity. But what is there that's a little closer to home?
Well on the 11th June, up to 300 cyclists will be embarking on Nightrider, a 100km night-time cycle ride that will raise money for charity. The ride starts at 11pm from Crystal Palace and follows a circular route that passes many of London's well-known landmarks such as Canary Wharf, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the British Museum. All those taking part are treated to a well-deserved breakfast when they arrive at the finish.

Staff are on hand throughout the circuit to offer mechanical help, first aid or general support if cyclists need it.Conceived by Classic Tours, a charity tour operator, it is hoped the ride will raise over 25,000 for various good causes. The route is designed to utilise well-lit, easily accessible roads and will be well sign-posted so that participants can cycle at their own pace. For those taking part, two fundraising options are available. A 25 registration fee can be paid, with a minimum sponsorship of 175, or an 80 fee can be paid with the participant raising whatever they can. Fundraising packs containing information and ideas are sent out to all the cyclists involved, and anyone over 18 and up to the challenge is welcome.
