Christmas time is all about sweets, cakes and Christmas trees with Santa Claus.
Christmas trees are brought in around the initial days of Christmas week.

sparkling stuff to make it look the best. Generally people prefer the original
coniferous tree however these days there lot of imitations available in the market.
Till 19th century the Christmas tree was known to people however wasn't that
compulsory for the occasion. Rather people used to gather at one place and would
get one combined Christmas tree decorate it and enjoy the occasion.
Towards the 20th century the ritual of Christmas tree got in vogue. The
availability of Christmas tree was not restricted till the nurseries and gardens
specialized for the coniferous tree. Rather it was mostly available in big markets
with great varieties and again in real as well as made up or artificial. Certainly now
the big day starts with great preparations which were similar in the past. However
sparkling lights all over the places be it markets, housing societies, Churches,
hospitals, colleges etc. Now each house would have one big Christmas tree all
decorated and sparkling with lights and decorations. Decorated Christmas trees
acts like cherry on the cake for the occasion.
In countries like United States of America, there is a big Christmas tree kept
and decorated in the White house. Also in America there are enormous varieties
found of Christmas trees. One of the well known varieties is the Charlie Brown
Christmas tree which is rather referred to a little Christmas tree which looks not
nourished completely. Unlike America, in Newzealand it's not the coniferous tree
but the Pohutukawa tree which is called as the native Christmas tree of the
country. Specialty of this tree is that its gets blown with Red flowers during
Christmas season and adds to the scenic beauty to the tree of the festival.
Also the custom has laid down clear dates by when the tree is brought in,
decorated and then kept inside. So historically the tree should be brought in only a
day before Christmas. It should be decorated to the best. Mostly the families have
a competition of the best looking Christmas tree on Christmas. However it is kept
decorated till 29th of December with Christmas on 25th of December. In today's
time people may not follow the dates in terms of getting the tree and keeping it
away. However the celebrations happen at a big bang and people often start the
celebration starting Thanksgiving. It's one of the auspicious days where Santa
Claus is also expected and hence people also keep little Santa Clauses with the
Trees. Some people gather gifts for the family and friends and distribute them on
the Christmas night in Santa's uniform which becomes great fun. This is day has
