Canada Pharmacy helps with Baby's first visit to the dentist
At what age should you take your child for their first Dental exam
? There are many conflicting opinions on when this big day should happen. Most pediatric dentist believe that you should bring a baby in by their first birthday and have their teeth examined. Some babies do not have any teeth by their first birthday, so then what? Many dentists will tell you that as long as they do not have any issues like cavities or cracked or chipped teeth, then it is perfectly acceptable to wait until your child is around the age of 3. By the time your child is 3 years old, they should be able to sit up in a dental chair and are able to follow in instructions a little better. By this time, we would hope your baby has most of his baby teeth as well. Depending on which dentist you go to, they may do a simple cleaning of the teeth and just examine then to make sure your toddler is brushing and flossing well. It is still important at this age to help your child brush their molars and teach them how to floss their teeth properly. If you teach your children at a young age how to properly care of their teeth, it will mean less painful visits to the dentist down the road. A trip to the dentist should never be a scary experience for your child. If you have a great dentist and supportive staff, they will do whatever they can to make sure your child enjoys coming to visit them.
