Buckingham Beech: Authentic, American Hardwoods From Mullican Flooring

A tree that grows in every state in the U.S., this golden brown wood epitomizes American hardwood floors

. Used in the manufacturing of flooring, furniture, toys, and novelty items, beech wood is considered an abundant hardwood with the strength to support just about anything, which is why Mullican Hardwood Flooring chose to create an entire solid hardwoods collection devoted to it.

As a hardwood floor, American Beech has a coarse, straight-grain, and mostly uniform texture. It wears well, is very supportive, and stays smooth when subjected to friction. It has a 1300 rating on the Janka Hardness Scale, which is above that of Red Oak.

In Mullican Flooring Buckingham Beech collection, solid Appalachian beech woods unique coarse texture is enhanced with two color options Ebony and Mink Brown. The result a natural looking hardwood floor that, up close, mimics the appearance of animal fur, almost like tiny brush-strokes.

If you want something soft, go with Mink Brown. For a very traditional American look choose the five-inch wide plank. For contemporary, go with a three-inch plank. If you want something deeper and to really see the fur-marks, definitely go with Ebony. The same rule applies for plank size with this one the wider the more traditional, the narrower, the more modern. If youre unsure of what your design and decorating are going to be like, you can go with four inches.

Personally, I prefer Mullican Buckingham Beech Beech Ebony 5". The color variations look absolutely beautiful when lined up side by side, with light edges creating a stunning array of contest alongside dark, almost black edges. All edges and ends in this collection are beveled and precision milled, which adds a touch of elegance, while still catering to traditional appeal.

Cost-wise, the Buckingham Beech collection is very reasonable, especially for a solid, ranging from $4.59 to $4.93 per square foot depending on plank size. The floors all come in inch thickness and feature random lengths. They can be nailed or stapled for application, and have a 25-year finish warranty.
