Bpo And The Economy

Information on topics like BPO tends to be one-dimensional

. You can get pages of material on what the call center services are and how many types of answering services can be provided by premiere business outsourcing destinations. It is tough to find other aspects of this rather multi-faceted industry. While thinking of what to write, I decided to let you know something which is not always in your face. Business investors are a tough nut to crack. Before they plug in money, they want to know where their money is going to land up. This article looks at the ripple effects of this thriving industry.

To begin with, business firms generally outsource BPO work to the third world countries. The primary reason is, of course, the cost cut. Its an open secret that you can easily find cheap and skilled labor in these countries. Added to that, I hardly see another point being highlighted. That is the question of the currency value. The conversion value is hugely favorable for the first world countries like USA, and more so for the UK. That is a vital reason why the cost deflates to an extent where it no longer hurts the firm outsourcing answering services. This advantage holds true from the other end as well. Call center firms delivering the projects earn in a currency that is way higher than their domestic value. That holds tremendous advantage and a reassuring profit margin. Its surely a win-win situation both ways.

The money that the BPO firms earn makes the economy healthy. If you conduct a survey or look at the figures already available, you will see that call center firms rank very high among the industries earning the major chunk of the national earnings. It has managed to walk past other traditional and established industries like retail and insurance only by the dynamic metrics of its growth. The high value currency of the earnings causes a difference here as well. The value of the earnings is high enough to browbeat the others in the fray. This does a world of good to the sagging economies of these countries. If not anything, the answering service sector prevents them from going to the World Bank to build roads and basic human amenities.

There are other sides of the economy that are bolstered by the BPO sector. Employment is one. Many governments are at their wits ends to provide employment to the teeming millions in these areas. The call center sector does that. The fact that you need not be an academic stalwart to earn a decent sum of money appeals to many youngsters. They love the challenges of the answering service industry. Initially many regarded this sector as a stop-gap arrangement but things have changed since then. Now the youth look at the business outsourcing work as a full-on career. Development of call center hubs has benefited the economy in more ways than one. If you look at the IT buildings in these countries and the state of affairs around it, the whole set-up looks like an oasis in the desert!
