The main tourist hub is the New Digha, which boasts of a science centre and one of the largest marine aquariums in Asia. Another major attraction in New Digha is the Amravati Lake, which has boating facilities. A little unconventional attraction in Digha is the snake farm that
is situated in close proximity to the Amravati Lake. Located at a distance of eight kilometres from Digha is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, known as the temple of Chandaneswar. While there, also visit Talasari, another beach located 3km away. At a distance of 14 kilometres from Digha is the unspoilt beach of Shankarpur. The beaches here are wide, lined with casuarinas trees and are less crowded than Digha. Shankarpurs main attraction is the fishing harbour project.

NSC Bose International Airport, Kolkata is the nearest airport which is about 210 km away from Digha.
How to get there by Rail
There are direct trains from Kolkata to Digha or one can take a train to nearby Kharagpur, a major rail junction with several trains to and from Kolkata.
How to get there by Bus
There are several bus services that run frequently to Digha from Kolkata. Buses leave daily, every half an hour, from the Shahid Minar and Howrah Bus Terminus in Central Kolkata. If driving by car, drive on NH 6 till Kolaghat and then take NH 41 to Digha. It approximately takes about five hours
to reach Digha from Kolkata by road.

The winter months are a good time as summers can be hot and humid.
