About Virtual Tour Videos

The Virtual Tour Video is usually created to show an audience around a facility that

they cannot physically see themselves, and is extremely valuable as a cost saver. It enables your company to showcase the facility easily to interested parties, without the travel expense of physically bringing them in to the location. It also saves time and money for the company itself, removing the need to constantly give tours. The Virtual Tour Video cannot fully take the place of an actual face-to-face tour, but it must be as good a representation as possible. This tour video can be used on your company's website, at trade shows, during events, meetings, and so on, wherever there is an opportunity for your company to show off your facility. Usually the purpose is to attract business in one form or another, and your audience will depend on your goal, whether it is recruitment, orientation or another purpose.

A standard format for this type of video would be to walk the viewer through the facility, starting with an opening segment to introduce the company and what they do. From there, the options are endless: exterior shots, CAD drawings, graphics, interviews, and general shots of the area are just a few possibilities. The video could also be hosted by a narrator, who could physically walk you through the facility. This gives the final product a more friendly appearance and a "face" for the facility. This is a choice to be made early in the process, weighing the pros and cons of an on-camera host. The host could also be shot in another location, such as the Richmond studio and then walk the audience through the facility using graphics and possible animation.

For a recent virtual tour video client of ours, LifeNet Health, their audience was doctors and nurses. They wanted these folks to be impressed with LifeNet's overall facility and operation, prompting them to send all their related medical business to LifeNet. Their video showcased the layout of the facility, using voiceover as the guide and moving through the building in a linear fashion, highlighting key areas as necessary. We transitioned through the building using a 3D CAD drawing to keep the audience oriented to where they were in the facility, and on-screen graphics highlighted additional facts. We finished with an exterior shot and then a final segment with an actor to tie the theme up of LifeNet as a quality medical provider.

These videos are usually delivered as DVDs and streaming files, allowing ample options for using the virtual tour product in all of the appropriate venues, and reaching your audience as effectively as possible.About Virtual Tour Videos
