Only 28 percent of owners service their vehicles at dealerships, and just 23 percent make sure to use only authentic manufacturer parts. Not surprisingly, the study also reports that less than one in four (23 percent) are willing to work with a qualified mechanic at an auto center to develop a maintenance plan for their cars.
According to current studies, visiting an auto shop for needed regular scheduled maintenance is not a popular activity among the majority of vehicle owners. This is true even though it has been proven that it is much less expensive to maintain regular vehicle maintenance schedules on your used vehicle than to purchase a new vehicle--especially if it is necessary to finance the purchase price.
