The Loch Ness Monster - Just a Myth? by:Ben Sleuth

The Loch Ness Monster is supposed to be an ancient creature that inhabits the 20 mile long Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. It is alleged to be a plesiosaur like animal and you may be very surprised to know that the legend of the monster dates back to the 6th century. The story though was brought to the world's attention in 1934 when Kenneth Wilson (a London Physician) published photographs of a beast with a plesiosaur type long neck...more

More Holiday Ideas to Beat the Credit Crunch by:Clive Wilmer

One of the things that I did not have time to cover in my last article on 'Holidays ideas to beat the Credit Crunch' (http://www.findholidays4u.com0 was a real killer money saver. House Swapping, actually I noticed the organisations concerned prefer to call it exchanging, perhaps to avoid any overtones. This one seems a bit way out at first but offers some real savings if you still want to travel and gives much more chance to get into the local culture and pace of life than a traditional package. The range of people and places who want to swap houses is really quite surprising. At the biggest home exchange service http://www.Homelink.org there are over 14000 from 72 countries. I think that sort of people this would suite would be slightly more independent and adventurous. If you dislike the way you are treated like a tourist on conventional tours and hotels that are impersonal. I think Home Exchangers want to gain new experiences and like to feel in control of their precious leisure time. Here are some of the reasons why some people find home exchange makes for an ideal holiday.Holiday Ideas Cost-savings The cost of accommodation is a major factor in holiday budgeting, especially...more

About twelve years ago, my wife and I were on our honeymoon in Maui. Maui was beautiful and we had a blast touring the island. The cruise operator gave us the option of using a life jacket to snorkel, but the majority of us (including me) chose to snorkel...more

Disneyland "it's a Small World" Ride Finally Re-opens! Here Is What Is New by:J. Michael Key

"it's a small world" is one of the most beloved attractions at Disneyland. After 42 years, people from around the world still bake a beeline for this charming, low-tech, whimsical boat ride. Yet, in 2008 it was showing its age and in need of refurbishment. So the Disney Imagineers shut the ride down for some months as they made repairs, spruced up existing characters and scenes, and added a few subtle changes. In particular, Disneyland has added a couple dozen new "residents" to the "it's a small world" community. The ride re-opened to the Disneyland public in Friday. We took a ride through "small world" with a former cast member who had been a Lead and Trainer on the attraction. She helped us identify and photograph many of the changes. The exterior of "it's a small world" has not changed much, which apparently is just the way millions of visitors want it. There's some new paint and minor touches, but it still has the same quaint entrance. Despite the simple technology, guests to Disneyland just love this ride. Repairs included major work on the fiberglass flumes in which the boats travel; they were leaking water in surprising quantities we're told. There was no-doubt a lot of...more
