Bichwa: It is the tradition in the states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar that the married women wear silver toe rings in their toes and fingers. It is also a tradition which has now become popular as a fashion accessory and ladies from other communities also wear toe rings in their toes.

Shankha Paula: Women from Bengal wear white and red bangles as a sign of being married. It is amicable for the Bengali married Hindu women to wear an iron bangle in their hands, which is given to them by their mother in law as they enter their new life, which is married life.

Nose rings: It is mandatory for the Muslim women to wear a nose ring as a sign of marital status. In Gujarat also, women wear a jewel in the nose. The Maharashtrian women also wear a big nose ring studded with pearls.

Earring and chains: In the state of Kashmir, women wear traditional ornament in their ears called Dejhor considered as a symbol of unity and represents gods Shiva and Parvati.

Chooda: The Punjabi women in Punjabi matrimonial wear traditional chooda made up of cream and red bangles, studded with American diamonds and other semiprecious stones.

Similarly, every community follows its own culture and is followed by the offspring. However, with the changing times, there have been changes in traditions but the essence remains the same.
