Variety In Plywood

Plywood is a thin sheet of wood which are put together to have strength and durability

. The quality of plywood entirely depends on the usage of the types of adhesive to glue them together. If the adhesive used is strong and long lasting then it will automatically make the plywood better and durable. It is considered as the most important factor in determining the quality of the plywood.

A plywood is better than the normal plain wood, as it helps in resisting from shrinking, cracks, warps and twists. The different types of plywood depends on the composition of the material and its usage. Each type has its own distinct features, purposes and benefits. Different projects have different requirements and the types are used accordingly. The types of plywood are as follows:

Medium Density Fiber Core Hardwood Plywood: This type of plywood is made up by bonding the woods together which have the capability of excellent glue adhesion. This is considered to be very stable and has the consistency to hold pressure.

Marine Plywood: This type of plywood is water proof and is therefore used in making marine products like boats. The second benefit of marine plywood is that it can be easily glued to any surface.

Medium and High Density Overlay Plywood: The next type of plywood is made up of ordinary veneer cored plywood but then it is coated with the medium density fiber plywood. The weight of this type of plywood is less than MDF but the surface is more durable than any other type of plywood.

Veneer Core Hardwood Plywood: It is very light-weighted type of plywood but considered to be the easiest plywood to work on. It is made up of alternative layers of different plywoods. The surface has veneer plywood along with the grainy wood finish like oak or maple. It is the strongest amongst all the types of plywood.

Lumber core Plywood: It is among the most costly plywood, which is used only where the edges of the plywood has to be exposed off. It is made up of hardwood and veneer is used to surface at the core of the plywood.

Particle Board Core Plywood: It is light-weighted but not as consistent as the medium density fiber. It has a smooth surface which is made up of coarse dust. There many products available in the market, which are made of melamine and have PBC as their substrate material.

Melamine Plywood: This type of plywood is stain resistant which is flexible in using in many applications. It can be smooth, soft or course.
