Vacuum Therapy for Erectile Dysfunction

Over the last 20 years Urologists (doctors specializing in the urinary tract) all

over the world have made great advances in treatments and technology within their field. Their efforts have made it possible to cure impotence, namely erectile dysfunction, in men of all ages. There are actually two types of erectile dysfunction: physiological, which occurs in 70% of all cases, and psychological, which occurs in the other 30%. Both types are curable, but physiological cases in particular can be cured with the use of a simple vacuum constriction device.

The thought of erectile dysfunction is very unsettling for any man. The severity of the condition intimidates most men into thinking that treatment is incredibly difficult or next to impossible. Although the effects of this condition are quite severe, the treatment is often simple: it's just a matter of blood flow. The Treatment of Organic Erectile Dysfunction report, published in 1996 by the American Urological Association's Erectile Dysfunction Clinical Guidelines Panel, made this discovery with the use of a vacuum device. The conclusion of the report stated that vacuum constriction devices are highly successful with a high rate of patient and partner satisfaction.

Since then Urologists worldwide have been prescribing vacuum pumps to their physiological erectile dysfunction patients. It was shocking to see a male novelty item to not only get published in a clinical report, but to also make it into regular medical practice. But when it is all said and done, the vacuum pump is undeniably good at getting the job done safely and effectively.

The vacuum pump works by creating a chamber of negative pressure around the male member. The negative pressure or suction is distributed evenly around the member, causing the veins and arteries to expand within. This in turn increases blood flow, allowing for an erection to occur and quickly reach maximum potential. A removable ring is often used at the bottom of the pump to contain the blood while still allowing for new blood to enter. This ring can prolong the effects of the vacuum pump for 10-15 minutes, at which point it should be removed for safety reasons.

Vacuum therapy cures erectile dysfunction by eliminating the cause of the problem: poor blood circulation. Many Urologists believe the vacuum constriction device to be the safest treatment for erectile dysfunction for this reason. The problem is tackled at the source without disturbing any other systems. The same cannot be said for prescription drugs such as pd5 inhibitors. Such drugs come with a long list of side-effects and in most cases are simply not as effective as the pump.

The vacuum constriction device is gaining popularity thanks to positive patient experiences and supportive clinical trials. Perhaps the biggest hurdle for this treatment is the stigma associating this medical device to the likes of an adult toy. So if you ever have the unpleasant experience of discussing erectile dysfunction with your Urologist and he shows you the vacuum pump, do not laugh at the thought like most men do, for this may be the best option you have.
