What about your grandfather's pocket watch, or that special wedding keepsake.As far as my family is concerned our most valuable possession is the family photo album. Now you can protect yours by having the photographs digitally scanned, and saved to a DVD wich can then be stored in the SentrySafe DS3410.this can also be done with important documents.Simply scan them and save them to a recordable CD. While keeping your property out of the hands of thieves is the motivation for some, others want a secure way to protect their valuables in the case of a fire or other unforeseen mishap.
This safe is compact enough to fit almost anywhere. It will fit anywhere you have about two cubic feet of unused space, but it comes with a roomy 1.2 cubic feet of interior room. It will hold several full size binders, and all of your important files and documents. The safe also has a movable shelf so you can customize the inside to fit your needs.
On the inside door of the safe you'll find a nice little pocket for storing jewelry, coins or other small, loose items. You'll also find several nifty hooks on the door for holding extra keys (or whatever else suits your fancy), making them easy to find without having to dig around in the safe.
The measurements for the exterior of the safe are 17.8 inches high by 16.3 inches wide by 19.3 inches deep (45.3 cm x 41.5 cm x 49.1 cm) which makes it compact and easy to place just about anywhere, especially the corner of a closet . The safe weighs 99 pounds (44.9 kg) which makes it easy enough for the homeowner to move around and install, but this also means that a burglar with a friend to help could easily carry the safe away, and break into it at a later time. This is why i strongly recommend that the safe be bolted to the floor using the provided hardware and instructions.
This little safe is handsome with its black exterior and shiny metal outside hardware. It has a combination lock that requires three numbers and it also requires a key to open. When properly closed, the lock emits a "click" to let you know that it is engaged. The combination of the lock comes pre chosen by Sentry products, making it virtually impossible for anyone to guess it. Even though requiring the combination and a key may seem cumbersome,the ultimate goal is to protect your belongings and prevent unauthorized access to your valuables.
With four live-locking bolts for strength, this tough safe is ETL certified to remain intact after a 15-foot drop and to provide one hour of fire protection for DVDs, CDs and USB drives up to 1700 degrees Fahrenheit. It is also UL classified as providing one hour of fire protection. The safe is extremely fire resistant, but it is not necessarily watertight. For added protection it is wise to seal papers and photographs in waterproof bags.
This safe will take a lot of abuse and still protect your belongings and it won't take up a lot of space in your home. It doesn't have any electronic parts that require electricity and so no tiny buttons to push or worry about melting in a fire. It will protect your important papers and digital records for an hour at extreme heat. That's usually much longer than the fire department will need to put out a house fire. With all these great features, you can be sure that the SentrySafe DS3410 Fire Safe will keep your belongings as safe as they can possible be, plus it will serve you for many, many years at a nominal cost.
