The Macbook Air has been a laptop of its times. It is currently the world's thinnest computer out there. Many people out there praise the Macbook, while others describe it to be the worst computer out there. Both have valid points about this notebook but what people need to figure out is which one would they rather have, compatibility or portability. Once that is figured out, everything is very simple for the customer. Although you may not choose to get one, it is still a stunning accomplishment made by the Apple team. I mean, this notebook is only 0.4-1.94 cm (0.16-0.76 inch) in height and it still operates like a fully functional computer!
When I say that it is up to the customer to decide if he or she wants something more compatible or more portable, I mean that the Macbook Air is designed to be the most portable notebook in the world but not so much compatible or at all capable of doing any other function that taking notes and writing reports and essays on it. There is no argument here that the Macbook Air is extremely portable. It only weighs three pounds, and it is very thin (obviously). However, what gets most people is how it is not compatible. People will need to sacrifice compatibility for portability. Why is this? Well, first things first is how it doesn't have an optimal disk drive so that you cannot download anything new with a C.D. or watch a video on it. This would be highly inconvenient for people who travel all the time and want to buy a D.V.D. to listen to music or have to download Microsoft Office or a program like that to use for work. Also, there are a few problems with the interior parts. The most important aspect of all is that it is very easy to overheat this computer. Some users complain that even at 66 degrees Celsius, 150 degrees Fahrenheit, it will do something called a CPU lockup which pretty much freezes your whole computer so that you have to restart it. Although the scientists and Apple have tried to counter this problem, with numerous upgrades on the product, this is still aggravated by programs and internet websites that require the users to play video playback or video chat.
However, nonetheless, for Apple to create a computer this slim and this stylish yet still make it work is quite astonishing. It is definitely something a very extravagant person would like to have around the house just for fun and for light trips around that do not require him to watch movies. I would not recommend this notebook for anyone who is going to use it for school or work, it is simply too poor to be used in those environments.
