The 5 Best Retirement Resorts in Australia
If you're looking for the best retirement village or resort to call home anytime soon- I have recently looked around for my Grandparents and have chosen five retirement homes that I consider the best! Definitely check these out before you buy! I chose them based on apartment features and facilities available, all within a reasonable price range.
Beauty Point Village
Location: 20 minutes from Sydney's CBD, NSW
Apartments: Two bedroom apartments available, with prices dependent on the view.
Water view (George's River): $530,000 - $645,000 Bush view: $530,000 - $595,000
Features: All the basic necessities, including reverse-cycle air-conditioning and an added bonus of Foxtel and internet connection!
Resort Facilities/Services: A hair and beauty salon, chapel, spa and sundeck, gymnasium, 21 seat cinema and card/craft room, including 24 hour security, free 24 hour care, a handyman at your disposal and a village supermarket.
Sapphire Luxury Retirement Apartments
Location: Hervey Bay, QLD
Apartments: Four different pricing choices dependent on apartment size, number of rooms and apartment level (the top two floors have ocean views!) Prices start from $325,000
Features: Reverse-cycle air-conditioning, lift access, internal laundry, designer kitchen, user-friendly appliances and intercom to the front gate for visitors (among others!).
Facilities/Services: BBQ area, heated pool and community club lounge which includes an internet kiosk and movie lounge/cinema, emergency call system, secure parking and storage.
Living Choice Apartments
Location: Sunshine Coast, Kincumber, Davistown, Woy Woy, Glenhaven, Eastwood and Adelaide
Apartments: 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom villas, apartments and units - starting from $275,000
Features/Facilities: Private garage, ensuite and walk-in wardrobes, large living rooms, easy-to-use appliances; most villas and apartments have air-conditioning and balconies/patios and a large leisure centre with plenty of activities to choose from!
Services: Care and Wellness Programs
Palm Lake Resort
Location: Mostly situated in South East Queensland (near the Gold Coast)
Apartments: New and pre-loved apartments starting from $249,000 in the Over 50's retirement village
Features/Facilities: 2 and 3 bedroom apartments available with ensuites, double garages and airconditioning- you can also choose between eight different floor plans. The resort Includes a complete "package of care" including meals, nurses, 24-hour emergency alert call, cleaning and village bus. According to their website, they "have been highly praised by the Queensland Government as first-class operators and leaders in the industry".
Hibiscus Morayfield
Location: Morayfield, QLD
Apartments: Minimum 2 bedroom luxury apartments starting from $340,000
Features/Facilities: The apartments come with airconditioning, gas hot water system, security screens, stainless steel appliances, ensuite, study and a choice of single or double garage. All electrical connections have already been installed- including free- to- air and Pay TV. The resort has everything from a gym, bar and internet cafe' to a library (coming soon) and a pool! They also organise exercise programs, musical afternoons and card games- including bridge and tai chi classes.
