Ten Fitness Marketing Tips That Will Grow Your Business

One of my fitness business coaching clients recently asked me to compile a list of the 10 most memorable fitness busienss marketing tips I'd learned since I started in the fitness business over 10 years ago. Here they are:1) Set clearly-defined, ambitious, yet realistic goals for yourself IN WRITING. Make these goals things you focus on each and every day.2) Remember that when you don't have a class or personal training session going on, you can offer free sessions - the people who attend will pay you in the form of referrals to friends.3) If you have a website for your business (and if you don't, stop reading this, build a site and come back when you're done!), make sure that each page is optimized for the right keywords, using them in your meta tags and working them into your content wherever you can do so naturally.4) Start building as many links as you can to your site from other sites that are focused on fitness; and the more relevant they are to your own site, the better. For instance, suppose you offer personal training in Seal Beach, CA. You'd want to seek out other sites about fitness and health as well as sites related to yours from the Long Beach and Orange County and Los Angeles areas, along with other locally oriented sites.5) Collect your clients before, after, and progress pictures and feature them in your web content, preferrably on the home page and at your facility.6) Create a sales page on your site using the best of these before and after pictures and testimonials - then make a habit of posting ads on Craigslist and other free classified ad sites which link to this page. Work on your writing so you can use compelling headlines and convincing copy to encourage readers to visit your site.7) Take a page from Dale Carnegie's book - literally. Read his "How to Win Friends and Influence People" and try putting what you learn into action. Apply this as a general rule; continue learning new things and when appropriate, take action based on this knowledge.8) Introduce systems and automation to any part of your business, which you can to save you valuable time and energy.9) Seek out clients whose talents you need and barter fitness services for their expertise.10) Think about these two things daily: what can you do to improve your business and what can you do to offer as much as possible to your clients.
