MY LIFE FOR STARCRAFT 2
After more than 10 years of waiting, Blizzard has decided to publish the sequel to one of his most acclaimed sagas, or Starcraft, which I played a bit I 'lags behind its publication. I did not remember very well the history and features some of the gameplay but it was very fun to explore the galaxy with the famous races Kropulu sector. One of the highlights of the game was the variety of units and charisma. The story then was the glue to the heart of the strategic game that is probably still alive until today.
Now Blizzard has decided to fully update this experience and I will tell you how it was live.
The stray RAYNOR.
The game is divided into two parts: the campaign and multiplayer. The campaign is dedicated to the Terran, namely land, and will include at least 26 missions. Among these we will try a juicy taste of the Protoss race, 4 missions in total, half of the campaign that we are really good at breaking the rhythm. 26 missions are to be considered in relation to the old Starcraft, like 8 missions to race, that being around 3, then brought to a conclusion. Not bad as longevity, I think. This time, Blizzard has decided to split the saga in three chapters, the second will be devoted entirely to the last Zerg Protoss.
But caliamoci in the history of marine veteran Jim Raynor and his legendary strays. At first, the protagonist will meet Tychus Findlay Matt Horner and to undertake a crusade against the dictator Mengsk land, which is literally controlling the planets colonized by humans for its own purposes. Raynor and his allies will have as main mission to stop Mengsk and, simultaneously, the return of another old threat of the universe: The Zerg. Return of the Zerg, though, there will be others that ex-girlfriend Raynor, Sarah Kerrigan, who had been converted into a Starcraft Zerg-humanoid form. Raynor will be time for you to choose whether to always defeat Kerrigan or groped a possible "conversion" of its essence alien now.
Meanwhile, rumors of the ship and Raynor comrades will reveal a possible link and the return of Tychus Zerg. Tychus will prove to be the principal missions on behalf of the foundation Moebius, who is determined to recover an artifact Xel 'Naga (the historical antecedent to the three current race) for use with Zerg.
Finally, another veteran of the past, the Protoss Zeratul, will come suddenly on stage for Raynor feel a foreboding future. So we can relive the memories of Zeratul through the future and understand what might be expected over the next titles in the series.
I can not reveal more, but be aware that the story will not disappoint you, even if at the end of campaign we want to know immediately the developments.
"Strays SPLIT!"
At the exit of the game I was pessimistic about how Blizzard would handle the inheritance, now you do not have time to build anticipation for a game that will soon be disproved. But this time it was made a working span between old and new impressive. It took time, but that's okay. The gameplay is the same as always but rejuvenate years. The collection of resources, the construction of buildings and armies remained unchanged, as many drives. Everything works like the old starcraft but in reality we will have a brand new game. Improvements have been made all the animations, the macro and micro management, have been refined mechanics of movement and combat of armies and everything is scripted (ie, events and missions created by the developers) and works a treat bursting with varieties from all pores. In the campaign never play the same mission, the environments have their own way because the units really exploit the advantages offered by mountains and chasms as they could suffer their presence. For example, in a mission of the Campaign, we will play in a world where the level of volcanic lava will rise and lower at different times and flee when we flood the lower parts of the ground. The presence of gullies or crevices or encourage the flying units that can disappear and reappear a short distance, and so on.
Decide to defend or attack has never been so balanced: we will complete the objectives in the campaign, and then sooner or later the attack (except in defense-only missions) will be an obvious choice, but in multiplayer just a little to break the balance of apparently functioning economy. The fate of some units sometimes cause serious damage at a time when the player is not ready to handle them. In single-player you can put the difficulty up to and see what happens to calibrate the timing attack-defense (there will be sweat!).
In games like Age of Empires 2 (which I thought was the best RTS of all time, although it is old) the defense strategy, if well-designed, works well in SC 2 but we can never be too quiet. Since the ground-air attack will be devastating sometimes we have to think fast to react quickly to the tactics of the enemy it is the computer or other people on the Internet. In Age of Empires 2, the economic management was much deeper and then you could spend more time in the collection of resources. In SC 2 resources are crucial, but the battle management and more frantic, fast-paced. We'll have fun and get victory cry is when we will see that when our bases in a short time reduced to rubble. Blizzard gave us a game from the point of view of macro-micro management is simple but can make us sweat in the lot. Each unit will be weighed and properly exploited, especially in raids I mentioned before. It looks like a old game? I would say instead that you have a great time.
"It 's time for a bold plan is unstoppable!"
Old game is a provocation. Why would a game should overturn its mechanics? Come on .. Age of Empires 3 shows and was in fact half flop. SC 2 has very little old. The campaign is introduced by some video that will accompany us whenever we will start a mission and when we will finish. This is a video game engine built with that in CG. Both are very well done and fast game. Sometimes we can relax and enjoy the faces and armor units of the Terran beautifully made listening all the while the dialogues of the protagonists of the game perfectly dubbed in Italian (Tychus smoking with closed visor of the suit by marines is too "forced"). Between their assignments Blizzard has decided to offer us the opportunity to talk with some of them to deepen the story and see the news of the news space. In addition, we spend the money accumulated in the mission to strengthen the structures and units, as well as carry out research on the general skills of our race. In short, the glue between their assignments are those interludes that we can handle as we want. It 'something that may seem low, but I appreciated very much.
From a technical standpoint SC 2 is very nice. The graphics are quite detailed, but not at very high levels in this way many more people can afford to enjoy it (we are now and about 3 million copies sold). The atmosphere is a mix between science fiction and merciless comedy. The bright colors are modeled this as some drives that will have a character very kind to us when the selection or when the spears in battle. The environments are fairly treated even though in my opinion are known to be the most painful of the graphics. Some tend to be a bit 'repetitive in terms of color and the invoice; fortunately the scenarios change often and sometimes we even end up on land suspended in space. The units, however, are immaculate and the side of the animations from the bill so much so that we never tire of seeing some of their actions. In particular, the game engine is designed to handle many more units than the old Starcraft thing that now we will see on the screen letting armies of spaceships, aliens and so on. The effects of laser and attacks such as explosions are loud.
But the thing that amuses me the most and the small box that appears when you select a unit, allowing us to admire his real feature and hear what he says: we will move from conflict and heroic phrases to sarcastic and bored. For example, the scv land should not be just to build buildings and gather minerals and some Protoss are very determined to pursue their mission, haha. Funny.
In short, the style is all Blizzard games, and considering that I'm not a fan of the series can rest assured that I am not trying to convince you at all costs.
"RAGNAROCK 'NROLL"
In short, at the conclusion of my experience I would say that SC 2 all fans of RTS can sit quietly. Making a summary of what I have seen the country is very diverse and has a deep history and rich video and twists, gameplay is balanced in order to entice them to take advantage of the races in both attack and defense that there is never a single strategy that always works, the ability of the units are unique and make the difference in battle, there's irony and style of productions from all over Blizzard and finally ... the multiplayer is really something impressive.
Playing online is a necessary step for those who want to enjoy a maximum of SC 2. At the beginning we will face the league cadets, a number of lots or 1vs.1 2vs.2 training before jumping in the league's most advanced (and since many are cooperative we blame our partners in case of defeat hehe!) . Obviously then we can access the games and 3vs.3 4vs.4 and climb the charts and making "career" according to our abilities. The developers have designed a system that allows you to bring together players with similar skills and balance out the online play. Some have bought the game only for multiplayer and then, less than a hardcore fan, as a guarantee is not bad.Last but not least the ability to see and review the replays of our games, or anyone else is an opportunity to make us laugh or two fans, as if we live in a sports tournament.
Note the mourners of the game? The campaign would have made it a mission to end up with more or with a longer final video, which closed the story more fully, but it seems that we have to wait "Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm" to further the plot. In addition to some settings not quite exceptional, as I said before, there are some issues to crash the game on some hardware configurations. At least I had to find a temporary solution because the game is planted more than usual and I would say that's not quite as cute thing. Dirven others but I could say that this is indeed related to the environment or personal taste gameplay in general (since there are some jokes I would say that I liked best Protoss in Starcraft). This is what I was waiting for a real time strategy game for years, and although the memory of Age of Empires 2 and the like is still strong, Starcraft 2 is a really fun and exciting hobby that can finally caught for a long time to come.
"ENTARO TASSADAR .. MY LIFE FOR Aiur!"
Here you can shoot a quick read on the characteristics of various breeds.
-Terran-
The land is perhaps the race more difficult to manage because they have a bit 'all types of units and technology but no primates in any field. The significant advantages are the ability to build bases everywhere and move the buildings by making them fly or take advantage of the SCV to repair most of the buildings or units. At the technological level but are below the Protoss can combine land vehicles and aircraft armed to the teeth to create armies quite varied, which if exploited well make a real difference. The medical units can afford to save so many units in difficult situations while those equipped with cloaking ability lends a hand in creating sorties.
-Protoss-
They are a very advanced alien race and in fact generated by the empty buildings by allowing the probes save time gathering resources. They require, however, of the pylons to build new structures. The units are all equipped with shields, something no other race has, therefore making them more resistant than usual. Typically create large armies is expensive but you can count on units already strong and durable. Some units allow you to wipe out massive dense groups of opponents as well as the use of skill rather exotic and mysterious. The Protoss are therefore the easiest to use since a large army has no equal but managing the cost and time of reconstruction can be a double edged sword. The farm which was then not the best because of the nature of the Protoss.
-Zerg-
These aliens have a pest management units quite different from other races. The hive produces larvae to be used to create bins of resources, which can also be used to build buildings and units. So from the hive you create all types of Zerg. The thing can be speeded up using the new queens inseminated larvae. The Zerg initially need to infect the area with pests and quickly create the technology needed to prepare a constant production of creatures ranging from small to faster and more monstrous. The air strikes helped ground to those who can take advantage of skills of burial, can create fast and lethal sorties. The Zerg then can make a difference on the numbers rather than quality. In terms of firepower or technology certainly did not record but who knows what their alien nature provides access to defense-attack strategies that other races can not use.
